Brought my daughters car here running rough. They towed it to their shop spent 2 days and had no idea what was wrong . Charged us $200 told us the car would drive home. It broke down three blocks away. Called for a price on installing an axle on another vehicle acted like they didn't want to work on it and couldn't give me a price. These guys are sketchy at best.
Dakk, I'm very sorry for the misunderstanding. When I spoke with your wife I reviewed the repair of your daughters 93 Camaro. The vehicle was towed in because it would not start. The tow was $70. I cleared a very flooded engine but once running it was running extremely poorly due to crossed ignition wires which I'm assuming happened accidentally when someone before us tried to get it started. But once again it still was not running correctly and I reviewed all of the things that would need to be repaired to return the car to normal. These repairs clearly exceeded the value of the vehicle and Judy at my recommendation decided not to proceed any further. I charged one hours labor for my time, plus the tow and tax. So yes it was just under $200 but I did not repair the vehicle. If it broke down on the way home you should have call but when I spoke with your wife she did not confirm that that actually happened. When you called in for an estimate on your Land Rover to have your part installed our companies policy is to not give estimates without seeing a vehicle. We will do free estimates once the vehicle is at out shop which my manager told you. We don't however install customer supplied parts because of a legal term called implied warranty. Which means if we install your parts, under NJ state law we must warranty the job even if the part is of poor quality. Also the the job goes bad due to your part the first thing that a customer will think is that we did something wrong and we have no recourse to correct the issue. Like I said, I am sorry for the misunderstanding but if you had an issue you should have contacted us and explained. We stand behind our work and seeing that I discussed this with your wife I could have clarified any issues with you as well. Please feel free to contact me to discuss this. Yours truly, Tom Petty
